9-12 or 13-16 English and Swedish placement tests / The Helsinki Music Centre (Musiikkitalo), classrooms S5101 (Mac computers), S5119 (PC computers) and Black Box hall (bring your own laptop and headphones)

It is recommended to take part if in the following situations:

  1. You are unsure about your English and Swedish skills. The placement tests will help you to determine whether you should take a brush up course before the actual English and Swedish courses

  2. Your English skills are very strong and you are planning to apply for an exemption of language studies with the portfolios. The English placement test is part of the English 1 portfolio.

The test is also available on Mon. 24 and Tue. 25 August 17-19 / Musiikkitalo, classroom S5119 (PC computers).

Opening of Uniarts Helsinki’s 2020–2021 academic year

The opening ceremony will be held on Thursday, 3 September 2020, at 15:00–18:00 outside the Helsinki Music Centre. You can watch a live stream of the ceremony via the media wall of the Helsinki Music Centre in the outdoor audience area or on Uniarts Helsinki’s YouTube channel.

The first-ever Taidepiste event will take place after the opening ceremony at 16:30–18:00.

Please note that the ongoing coronavirus situation may cause changes to the opening ceremony.

Taidepiste: Radical songs – how does music fuel revolutionary dreams?

Paleface & Laulava Unioni, music history researcher Saijaleena Rantanen and music journalist Amanda Kauranne take the stage.

We will limit the number of guests in the Main Foyer so that the Taidepiste audience members can maintain a safe distance to each other. It is also possible to watch the Taidepiste event outdoors via a broadcast on the media wall of the Helsinki Music Centre.
